Route & season

Pass Thurn is the scenic option – Mittersill–Saalbach is the fast one. We decide 30 minutes before departure.

There are three ways from Salzburg to Kitzbühel. First: A10 + B164 over Pass Thurn (110 km, 85 min) – the scenic option, problematic at 1,274 m in heavy snow. Second: B311 via Zell am See, Mittersill and Hopfgarten (130 km, 95 min) – flatter, more reliable in winter. Third: A12 via Munich-Land towards Wörgl (160 km, 110 min, but motorway-free for the last 25 km) – our backup for HGV closures on the B164.

During Hahnenkamm race week (typically mid- to late January), traffic around Kitzbühel jumps 600%. Hotel approaches between 17:00 and 19:00 are routinely jammed. For our VIP guests we reserve the fastest approaches via the festival car park and know the loops the police closure regime doesn't cover.

Outside race week Kitzbühel is one of the most relaxed resorts. We deliver to hotel doors from the Stanglwirt in Going (12 km out) to Hotel Tennerhof on the Hahnenkamm slope. The last 800 metres into the centre is restricted to licensed transport at many hotels – we've held that licence since 2018.

From the Hahnenkamm dispatcher

"Hahnenkamm race weekend is the only time of year I stop taking new bookings."

Wolfgang T.

Kitzbühel dispatcher · since 2010

Hahnenkamm race weekend (typically the third weekend of January) is our most important service window. We dispatch weeks ahead: Audi works teams, ORF crew, international TV networks, German and Italian ski federations, politicians, sponsors. Some regulars book twelve months in advance.

During race week our convoy service runs 14 vehicles simultaneously. We hold a fixed base at Hotel Schloss Lebenberg and a mobile one at the race car park. Three chauffeurs are reserved exclusively for UHNW guests (NDA required, Executive class on request).

What we don't do: short-notice race-week bookings for first-time guests, because we won't risk punctuality for our regulars. If you want to attend the Hahnenkamm and you're new to us, contact us by 1 November at the latest. We'll set up your regular-client status from next year onwards.
