Why a Salzburg specialist

Salzburg isn't just any city – and an airport transfer here isn't a standard service.

Within a two-hour radius of Salzburg's old town sit three international airports: Salzburg (SZG) at the city edge, Munich (MUC) across the Bavarian border and Vienna (VIE) some 295 kilometres east. Add Innsbruck, Linz, Graz and – in winter – the charter slots at Klagenfurt. Running smooth transfers here means reading traffic patterns on the A1 between Salzburg and Vienna, knowing the seasonal jams at Walserberg, and recognising when the A8 to Munich grinds to a halt over weekend HGV bans.

Our team has driven these routes daily since 2010. We know the exact two lanes at Salzburg Hauptbahnhof where a V-Class can stop without being ticketed by police. We know the T2 underground at Munich Airport is often too low for a V-Class with a roof-mounted ski box. We know the signs at Vienna Terminal 1 that have nothing to do with the fastest route to the car. That kind of granular knowledge is the difference between a transfer and a service.

Premium transfer in Salzburg isn't only about arriving in a Mercedes. It's about being on time, being prepared for weather and visa questions, being practised in handling two languages per family, having child seats in the boot, holding a Plan-B tunnel route for the narrow stretches of the Tauern, and being experienced at communicating with hotel concierges along Getreidegasse.

Voice from the cockpit

"Three things travellers to Salzburg almost always underestimate."

M

Markus L.

Senior chauffeur · since 2012

First, the weather around the Tauern. Salzburg can be sitting at 18 °C in the sunshine while it's snowing 70 kilometres south at 1,738 metres. If you're heading to Obertauern in April, you still want winter tyres under you. We check current weather and traffic information, along with our tyres, before every mountain route.

Second, the German vignette question. The A8 to Munich requires an electronic toll declaration where applicable. We handle the electronic paperwork before you even step in, so you don't have to stop at Walserberg or in the Inn valley.

And third, plenty of families assume a 1h 45 drive is "nothing" for kids. It isn't. We carry a plan-B Chiemsee stop, blankets, water and – if you'd like – a Spotify box in the cabin so the last 40 minutes into Salzburg end in peace.

WhatsApp
How long is the transfer from Salzburg to Munich Airport?+

Standard drive time is 1h 45 with clear roads. On Friday afternoons, summer weekends and during Oktoberfest we add 30–45 minutes and suggest earlier departure times.

What does a Salzburg → Vienna Airport transfer cost?+

Flat rate from €580 in a Mercedes E-Class for up to three, €640 in a V-Class for up to seven. Tolls, vignette, 60 min waiting incl. all taxes included.

How does flight tracking work?+

You provide your flight number at booking. Our dispatch system connects to AviationStack and monitors arrival every three minutes. If you're delayed, we shift the pickup automatically – no waiting fee for up to 90 minutes after scheduled landing.

What if my flight is cancelled?+

Cancellations up to 24 hours before departure are free. For last-minute cancellations due to a flight cancellation we refund 80% – we keep only the dispatch fee. We also help you rebook for the next flight.

Can I request a child seat?+

Yes – infant carriers (0–13 kg), child seats (9–18 kg) and booster seats (15–36 kg) are free. Please note age and weight at booking so the correct seat is in the vehicle.

Do you accept credit cards?+

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal online, plus EC-card and cash in the vehicle. A VAT-compliant invoice is emailed after the ride.

How much luggage can I bring?+

E-Class: 3 large bags + 3 carry-ons. V-Class: 7 large bags + 7 carry-ons. Vito: 8 large bags + ski gear. If you're bringing skis, snowboards or a pram, please book V-Class or Vito.

Where do we meet at Munich Airport?+

Standard pickup is at Terminal 1 or 2 depending on airline. Your chauffeur waits with a name sign right at the baggage-hall exit. On request, we collect you at the gate (lounge pickup) – this carries a fee.

Do you serve early charter flights?+

Yes, 24/7. Early charter flights from 04:30 are common, especially out of Klagenfurt and Salzburg in winter. We recommend departure three hours before boarding.

Can you make multiple stops (e.g. hotel + restaurant)?+

Absolutely. Up to two additional stops in Salzburg city are free. For more stops or routes outside Salzburg, book our chauffeur service by the hour.
